Phenomena Magazine: Echoes of the past

At Belchite, in Zaragoza, Aragon, Spain, the fabric of time seems woven with the threads of history, tragedy, and the unknown.

The village has been shrouded in mystery since the late 1990s and early 2000s. Rumors of strange sounds and whispers began to circulate among visitors and locals alike. The eerie noises, indistinct whispers, murmurs, muted explosions, and sounds of gunfire were not loud enough to be explained by natural causes. Faint sounds of sirens or alarm bells, reminiscent of those used during times of war have been heard while others claimed to have heard footsteps or rustling sounds coming from abandoned buildings or streets. Phenomena Magazine is visiting Belchite in late July 2024 and will document their interviews, findings, and encounters from this 8th-century timepiece.

El pueblo ha sido envuelto en misterio desde fines de la década de 1990 y principios de la de 2000. Rumores de sonidos extraños y susurros comenzaron a circular entre visitantes y locales por igual. Los ruidos extraños, susurros indistintos, murmuros, explosiones amortiguadas y tiros no eran lo suficientemente fuertes como para ser explicados por causas naturales. Se han oído sonidos débiles de sirenas o campanas de alarma, reminiscentes de aquellos utilizados durante tiempos de guerra, mientras que otros aseguraron haber oído pasos o sonidos de reptación procedentes de edificios abandonados o calles. La revista Phenomena visita Belchite en julio de 2024 y documentará sus entrevistas, hallazgos y encuentros en este joyero del siglo VIII.
